Registered Companies
2025: The total number of companies registered in India as on 31st Dec, 2025 was 30,30,432.
2024: The total number of companies registered in India as on 31st Dec, 2024 was 27,88,610.
Active Companies
2025: Out of the total registered companies, active companies as on 31st Dec, 2025 was 20,14,858.
2024: Out of the total registered companies, active companies as on 31st Dec, 2024 was 18,02,602.
Closed Companies
2025: Out of the total registered companies as on 31st Dec, 2025:—
• 9,70,595 companies were closed,
• 2,552 companies were assigned dormant status as per the Companies Act, 2013;
• 10,403 were under liquidation;
• 23,800 companies were in the process of being struck-off.
2024: Out of the total registered companies as on 31st Dec, 2024:—
• 9,47,561 companies were closed,
• 2,519 companies were assigned dormant status as per the Companies Act, 2013;
• 10,367 were under liquidation;
• 25,561 companies were in the process of being struck-off.
One Person Companies (OPCs)
2025: As on 31st December, 2025, a total number of 76,254 OPCs were registered in India. During the month of December 2025, a total of 1,513 OPCs were registered.
2024: As on 31st December, 2024, a total number of 62,894 OPCs were registered in India. During the month of December, 2024, a total of 816 OPCs were registered.
Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs)
2025: As on 31st December, 2025, a total number of 4,49,784 LLPs were active in the country. During October to December 2025, a total of 21,106 new LLPs were registered.
2024: As on 31st December, 2024, a total number of 3,69,324 LLPs were active in the country. During October to December 2024, a total of 14,502 new LLPs were registered.
Foreign Companies
2025: As on 31st December, 2025, a total of 5,302 foreign companies were registered in India. Out of these foreign companies, 3,285 were active.
2024: As on 31st December, 2024, a total of 5,209 foreign companies were registered in India. Out of these foreign companies, 3,278 were active.

Government Companies
2025: Out of the total 20,14,858 active companies, there were a total of 2,506 government companies as on 31st Dec, 2025.
2024: Out of the total 18,02,602 active companies, there were a total of 2,399 government companies as on 31st Dec, 2024.
Listed Companies
2025: As on 31st December, 2025, a total number of 7,195 companies were listed in India. (Out of which, 7181 listed companies were Limited by Shares and 14 listed companies were Limited by Guarantee category.)
2024: As on 31st December, 2024, a total number of 6,834 companies were listed in India. (Out of which, 6820 listed companies were Limited by Shares and 14 listed companies were Limited by Guarantee category.)
