Section 24 Contract Labour (Reg. & Abolition) Act 1970: Other Offences

Section 24 (Other offences) under Chapter VI (Penalties and Procedure) of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 —

❝If any person contravenes any of the provisions of this Act or of any rules made thereunder for which no other penalty is elsewhere provided, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.❞

Notes:

The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 (No. 37 of 1970) was amended by:
- the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Amendment Act, 1986 (No. 14 of 1986) (w.e.f. 28-1-1986);
- the Delegated Legislation Provisions (Amendment) Act, 2004 (No. 04 of 2005) (w.e.f. 11-1-2005).
