Section 11 Contract Labour (R & A) Act 1970: Appointment of licensing officers

Section 11 (Appointment of licensing officers) under Chapter IV (Licensing of Contractors) of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 —

❝The appropriate Government may, by an order notified in the Official Gazette,—

 (a) appoint such persons, being Gazetted Officers of Government, as it thinks fit to be licensing officers for the purposes of this Chapter; and

 (b) define the limits, within which a licensing officer shall exercise the powers conferred on licensing officers by or under this Act.❞

Notes:

The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 (No. 37 of 1970) was amended by:
- the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Amendment Act, 1986 (No. 14 of 1986) (w.e.f. 28-1-1986);
- the Delegated Legislation Provisions (Amendment) Act, 2004 (No. 04 of 2005) (w.e.f. 11-1-2005).
