Section 7K, EPF & MP Act 1952: Right of appellant to take assistance of

Section 7K (Right of appellant to take assistance of legal practitioner and of Government, etc., to appoint presenting officers) of the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1952

❝(1) A person preferring an appeal to a Tribunal under this Act may either appear in person or take the assistance of a legal practitioner of his choice to present his case before the Tribunal.

(2) The Central Government or a State Government or any other authority under this Act may authorise one or more legal practitioners or any of its officers to act as presenting officers and every person so authorised may present the case with respect to any appeal before a Tribunal.❞

Notes:

The Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 has been amended several times since its enactment.
The last two amendments were by the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions (Amendment) Act, 1998 (Act No. 10 of 1998) and the Finance Act, 2017 (Act No. 7 of 2017).
