Section 235, Contract Act 1872: Liability Of Pretended Agent

Section 235 under the Chapter X (Agency - Appointment and authority of agents) of the Contract Act, 1872 of India - 'Liability of pretended agent', is reproduced hereunder:—

“A person untruly representing himself to be the authorised agent of another, and thereby including a third person to deal with him as such agent, is liable, if his alleged employer does not ratify his acts, to make compensation to the other in respect of any loss or damage which he has incurred by so dealing.”
