Section 17, Whistle Blowers Protection Act 2014: Punishment For False Or Frivolous Disclosure

The contents of Section 17 (Punishment for false or frivolous disclosure) under Chapter VI (Offences and Penalties) of the Whistle Blowers Protection Act, 2014, is reproduced as under:—

“Any person who makes any disclosure mala fidely and knowingly that it was incorrect or false or misleading shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend up to two years and also to fine which may extend up to thirty thousand rupees.”
