Section 457 Companies Act 2013: Non-disclosure of info in certain cases

SECTION-457 (Non-disclosure of information in certain cases) under CHAPTER-XXIX (Miscellaneous) of the Companies Act, 2013

Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law for the time being in force, the Registrar, any officer of the Government or any other person shall not be compelled to disclose to any court, Tribunal or other authority, the source from where he got any information which—

(a) has led the Central Government to order an investigation under section 210; or

(b) is or has been material or relevant in connection with such investigation.

Extra Notes for Readers

(1) The Companies Act, 2013 received the assent of the President on the 29th August, 2013 (Published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II - Section 1 by Ministry of Law and Justice, Legislative Department on 30th August, 2013).

(2) Section 457 of the Companies Act 2013 was notified by MCA Notification S.O. 2754(E) dated 12th September 2013 (w.e.f. 12th September 2013).
