Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises notifies establishment of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Fund (New Delhi, the 28th October, 2016)
"S.O. 3356(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), the Central Government hereby establishes a fund to be called the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Fund to be utilised exclusively for the measures specified in sub-section (1) of section 9 of the said Act."

Sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 is reproduced as below:
Section 9. Measures of Promotion and Development
(1) The Central Government may, from time to time, for the purposes of facilitating the promotion and development and enhancing the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises, particularly of the micro and small enterprises, by way of development of skill in the employees, management and entrepreneurs, provisioning for technological upgradation, marketing assistance or infrastructure facilities and cluster development of such enterprises with a view to strengthening backward and forward linkages, specify, by notification, such programmes, guidelines or instructions, as it may deem fit.
